SBA Community Partnerships Program

A Youth development Program

The SBA Community Partnership Program provides accessible sports media and digital career-pathway programs for teens who may not have access to formal media arts, broadcasting, or sports business programs through their schools.

Sports Broadcast Academy prepares young people for careers in sports media, digital communications, and event production through school-based training, community programs, and real-world production experiences.


COMMUNITY PROGRAM SERVICES

Introduction to Sports Media Workshop

This entry-level workshop introduces teens to the sports media industry through interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities. Participants explore different career paths, practice basic production skills, and complete a short media assignment.

Format:

  • One-day or two-day workshop
  • Two to six instructional hours
  • 15–30 participants

  • Interview fundamentals
  • On-camera presentation

Deliverable:

Participants complete a short interview, sports update, or digital video project.

Sports Media Career Exploration Series

This short-term series gives teens a broader understanding of the careers available throughout the sports media and communications industries. Each session introduces a different discipline and helps participants identify the career pathways that best match their interests and strengths.

  • Four to six weeks

Community Sports Media Academy

The Community Sports Media Academy is SBA’s comprehensive youth training program. Participants progress from industry fundamentals to hands-on production assignments, working in teams to create original content and cover community sports and events.

Format:

  • Eight to twelve weeks
  • One or two sessions per week
  • 15–25 participants

Youth Community Storytelling Lab

This program teaches teens how to use digital media to document and communicate the stories of their communities. Although sports may be included, the program can also support civic engagement, public information, environmental initiatives, health campaigns, and youth-focused community storytelling.

SBA EVENT PRODUCTION

GAME DAY EVENT PRODUCTION

SBA Event Production provides professional and student-supported media production services for youth sports organizations, tournaments, leagues, schools, municipalities, nonprofits, and event operators.


The SBA Event Production Division combines professional production leadership with supervised student talent to deliver livestreams, photography, video coverage, digital content, and event media services.

Essential Game Coverage

Essential Game Coverage provides an affordable professional record of a single game. It is ideal for youth leagues, schools, teams, and event organizers that want basic video, photography, and interview content without the cost of a full broadcast production.

Game Time Live
